Changes to MEGS

Users will notice several updates to MEGS that have been added during the latest cycle of updates to the MEGS system.

Color Coding of Grants.

You will notice that all grants are now color coded.

2001-2002 grants: orange-red border
2002-2003 grants: blue border (the traditional look)
2003-2004 grants: green border

Grants will keep the same color during the first three years they are in MEGS. The 2004-2005 grants will have the orange-red border currently seen in the 2001-2002 grants. The color coding is designed to make it easier to identify which grant you are working on in MEGS.

Interactive Checklists.

The checklists in MEGS are now interactive. After you View Comments for your specific grant, you can respond back to your grant consultant. It is recommended that you keep the checklist correspondence short and sweet. Longer comments can be addressed via email, or by phone.

Printing Comments.

To print a complete list of the comments from your consultant, access the View Comments link in your menu header or footer from the Application Menu. There is a Print Button on the checklist, that will allow you to print a copy of the checklist. If the right hand margin cuts off on your printer, change the orientation to landscape.

Edit Budget Detail.

It is now possible to edit your Budget Detail from a single page location. To access the Edit Budget Detail, navigate to your Budget Detail page. Once you are viewing your grant’s budget detail, you will notice a new tab is displayed: Edit Budget Detail. Use this link to update your budget. You must follow the budget entry rules when updating your budget.

Application Security Levels.

Authorized Officials (Level 5) should use the Application Security Page to ensure that all district personnel are properly assigned to their grants. In order for Application Administrators (Level 4) to have permission to initiate new grants, they must have been assigned to the grant as a level 4.
